After being temporarily pulled from store shelves, the Nest Protect is back and available at an even lower price. It originally launched in the fall of 2013 with a list price of $129.99, but Nest has announced that the Protect is now available for $99 (wired version too) as a way to “make it accessible to as many people as possible.”
Protect is a smart smoke and carbon monoxide detector that uses a human voice to announce potential dangers, which Nests notes is more effective at waking children than a traditional beeping alarm. The Nest app makes it easy to control your Protect and sends notifications to your smartphone or tablet if your alarm goes off. It also plays nice with the Nest Learning Thermostat.
Order the Nest Protect at its new low price today from Best Buy, Home Depot, Nest, and it has just hit Amazon as well. we expect it to hit Amazon very soon. (updated 6/17 2:15pm)
