PancakeBot aims to inspire both young and old to create and have fun with their food as well as develop interests in engineering, art, programming and food manufacturing through the use of technology.
Using the included Mac/PC software, users trace over an image inside the app and then the bot uses a vacuum and compressed air to “print” out your desired image directly onto the included griddle. It can handle both basic shapes and more detailed images like the Eiffel Tower that require a darker outline, as you can see in the image below.
Available now via its already successful Kickstarter campaign, the early run 50% off editions are now sold out, but there are still models available for $120 off the MSRP.
If the full custom pancake printer is a bit much for you, pick up some traditional pancake moulds on Amazon for as low as $4 Prime shipped or less like these Mickey options. You can also use a dispenser like these and just draw your own designs directly on the cooking surface for less than $12 Prime shipped. Better yet, check out these airy homemade waffles in our latest Kitchen Tech column.
