April’s Free Xbox Live Games: Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Gears of War: Judgement, Child of Light, more

Xbox Live subscribers get an added bonus to membership each month as a select number of games are made free for download. For April, Microsoft is giving away two games for Xbox One and four games for Xbox 360. This added perk for Xbox Live subscribers makes the extra expense all the more worthwhile.

Microsoft will be giving away Pool Nation FX and Child of Light for free during the month of April. These titles typically retail for $10 and $15, respectively. Pool Nation FX is a full fledged billiards game that includes online multiplayer, the ability to watch matches online and “unlimited customization” of gameplay modes. Child of Light is a 2D RPG side-scroller where the main character, Aurora, must retrieve the sun, moon and stars from the antagonist.

On the previous generation Xbox 360, Live users will see four free games over the course of April. During  the 1st – 15th, Gears of War: Judgement (normally $20) and Terraria ($15) will be available for play. The second half of the month will feature Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag ($20) and Army of Two The Devil’s Cartel ($20).

Don’t have Xbox Live? It is currently available for $36, down from its regular list price of $60. With the value of all these free games, online multiplayer and other features, Xbox Live is pretty much a no-brainer at this point.
