The 5 biggest iOS and Android games announced at this year’s E3 Expo

E3 is set to come to a close today after a week of providing us with a look at some of the newest gaming titles and hardware advancements. We’ve already detailed what Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo are planning to have in store for gamers and today we’re going to take a look at the upcoming mobile releases.

Publisher Square Enix dropped the bomb that Tomb Raider would be making an appearance with Lara Croft Go. This exciting new puzzle adventure game is a follow up to Hitman Go, which was met with much fanfare since its release last Spring. Head below for trailers, release information and more on Lara Croft Go, Star Wars upcoming mobile release and more.

Lara Croft Go promises to deliver a unique experience for Tomb Raider fans, unlike they’ve ever seen before. This turn based puzzle game has a more animated feel that fans might expect but that isn’t a reason to count it out. If it is anything like Hitman Go, and we expect it to be, this will be one game you’ll want to grab.

Square Enix hasn’t detailed release information or which specific devices Lara Croft Go will come to, but Hitman is on both iOS and Android, so we’d predict the same for this title.

Kabam’s RPG Studios entered a galaxy far far away with a new Star Wars RPG that is being handled by some familiar Lucas Arts names. Daniel Erickson, who was the creative director for The Old Republic is back for Star Wars Uprising. This rendition will pickup right after Return of the Jedi and the demise of Emperor Palpatine. Star Wars Uprising takes a different turn, as gamers can build their own unique fantasy world, with custom characters.

Familiar settings like Hoth and the Cloud City can be explored as characters collect gear and weapons, fighting off enemies with gesture based controls. Star Wars fans will have to wait until the fall to get their hands on this new title, it will be released on iOS and Android platforms.

Sports titles on mobile have generally been pretty hit or miss, at times delivering decent visuals but typically missing out on the experience of playing on a console. Joe Montana Football 16 is aiming to change all of that. Back after a multi-decade hiatus, this new full 11-on-11 title leverages the power of Metal and Unreal Engine 4 on iOS to deliver an all new gridiron experience on mobile.

Although it won’t have your favorite football player’s names on the jerseys – EA holds those exclusive rights – the graphics should make up for that. iOS users will get this title first in the fall, with Android coming at a later date. We can’t wait to see Broadway Joe throwing the pigskin around again.

Perfect World is back with a new Torchlight Mobile game, bringing it to iOS and Android for the first time. This RPG combat-style game is guaranteed to be a head turner with Torchlight’s awesome graphics. Don’t expect a full port over from the popular PC game, this is an “entirely new game” according to Perfect World. Not many details are known at this time, but gamers can expect to see a release in later this year.

Fans of The Walking Dead are rejoicing following the announcement that a new iOS and Android game starring Michonne will be coming this fall, in addition to Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Telltale details that this new title will pick up between issues 126 and 139 in the comic and will not be based on AMC’s hit TV show.

In case you missed anything at E3 this week, you can see our full coverage here. It was a big week for mobile with additional announcements on Fallout Shelter for iOS, a real-life Pip Boy for Fallout Shelter 4 and Final Fantasy 7.
