JBL and Sennheiser show off their latest generation headphone line-ups at IFA 2015

IFA 2015 is in full swing as you have likely been able to tell from the wealth on new products popping up this week. Today it’s headphones. Parrot has shown off its new crocodile Ziks and now JBL and Sennheiser are up:

JBL took to the show floor in Berlin with its
new JBL Everest line of wireless headphones. There are 5 models in total including around-ear, on-ear and in-ear options with the JBL Everest ELITE 700 leading the pack. The entire line has a focus on top of the line wireless audio and ergonomics and the flagship 700s are no exception. They feature Bluetooth 4.1, with 15 hours of playback NXTGen Active Noise Cancelling Technology, carefully “sculpted” ear cushions, and a number of audio customization options via the My JBL Headphones app. The rest of the line follows suit with price dropping along with features like Active Noise Cancelling, app access and ShareMe 2.0 support (“Connect with any brand of Bluetooth headphone and share music, videos and games with friends – easily and wirelessly”).

The Everest line will range from €99.99 (about $110) for the in-ear 100s, all the way up to the 700 ELITE flagships for €279 (about $310). Along with a series of Bluetooth sport headphones, the Everest line is said to be coming available worldwide in October.

Next up is Sennheiser. The company showed off its latest gen MOMENTUM headphones we saw previously, along with its first set of closed-back audiophile HD 630VB headphones, and the URBANITE XL WIRELESS sets. But it was the new HD 400-series cans that caught our attention. There will be three models with the closed-back HD 451, HD 461 and HD 471. Along with detachable cables with mic and remote for iOS or Android and leatherette ear pads, the HD 461 and HD 471 will be the only two coming to North America. The more compact HD 451 are only slated to hit overseas.

Beyond that the top-of-the-line HD 471s are geared for a balanced audio output and have gold plated connectors, where as the 461 offer an enhanced lower end. All three models will work with your mobile devices and won’t require any kind of DAC.

The HD 461 and HD471 models will go for $90 and $110 respectively with expected launch date in October.
