MiTagg slims down its NuDock Mini for iPhone & Apple Watch plus adds USB-C

If you’re anything like myself, there are plenty of electronics in your life that are in need of daily attention. Power outlets and nightstands get crowded quickly as we juice up our phone, wearable, tablet, laptop and more. While we regularly bring our readers USB-equipped power deals, sleek all-in-one solutions can be tough to come by.

MiTagg first made a run at our nightstand back in the Spring with its Power Station Lamp. Today, its back again with a smaller and sleeker rendition that even includes USB-C. This is the NuDock Mini.

Dubbed as the “most powerful smart dock ever”, the Mini has quite a bit to live up to. It has dropped the built-in lamp of its older brother in favor of a smaller footprint focused on recharging all your devices. The NuDock Mini has a home for your iPhone with an included Lightning connector plus an arm that extends out to hold your Apple Watch with a built-in charging puck.

The iPhone dock itself has room for a charging with some thinner cases. Apple Watch users can take advantage of watchOS2’s Nightstand Mode while charging horizontally. MiTagg is a part of Apple’s Made for Watch and iPhone program, so its included power adapters are safe to use with your devices. On the back side you’ll find a 2.4A USB-A plus a USB-C port as well as the plug-in for the AC power source that can handle “five devices at once”.

MiTagg hopes to handle the charging for all of your Apple gear, even your 12-inch MacBook. Don’t worry Android fans, there is a Qi-enabled version of the NuDock Mini that has you covered. I mentioned earlier that MiTagg dropped the lamp on this model, that’s not completely true. The base illuminates and can be controlled by an iOS app to display a number of different colors. It looks to be very similar to Hue in the way that it behaves.

The NuDock Mini is available for pre-order today on Indiegogo with early bird pricing starting at $79. Funding just kicked off within the hour, if it meets its goal MiTagg will fulfill orders in the Spring. The price will jump over $100 after this round of crowdfunding, which is in-line with similar all-in-one charging docks that we have seen.
