All of this is a part of Netflix’s plan to double the amount of original content subscribers will have access to. The Netflix executives announced the network will deliver over 600 hours of original content this year and in order to do so, have invested $6 billion into producing the various TV shows and films.
Netflix has also announced premiere dates for the following shows:
- Flaked – March 11
- The Ranch – April 1
- Lost & Found Music Studios – April 1
- Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt – April 15
- Kong: King of the Apes – April 15
- Marseille – May 5
- Grace and Frankie – May 6
- Word Party – June 3
- Stranger Things – July 15
- The Get Down – August 12
Netflix recently made its service available in 130 countries, including Russia and India, but did confirm it would start actively shutting down proxy services to stop subscribers from using Netflix services outside of their own region. Currently, all original Netflix programming will be made available to subscribers in each country.
