Free Xbox Live Gold Games for March: Borderlands, Lords of the Fallen, Sherlock Holmes C&P, more

It will be March before we know it and Microsoft has announced the newest selection of Games with Gold titles for next month. Xbox Live members can grab four games for free as a part of this promotion. Full details below.

If you don’t already have an Xbox Live membership, be sure to pick up a 12-month pass so you can grab this month’s free games alongside other perks.

First up, we’ll take a look at what Xbox One gamers can expect to see in March. Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishment (Reg. $17) will be available throughout the month. This RPG takes you through a “detailed investigation” as Sherlock has to make decisions that ultimately change each storyline’s outcome.

In Crimes and Punishments you will take on a number of fascinating crimes, including murders, thefts, and missing persons. There are 6 full-length cases, each with a variety of possible endings. In each case you must examine the crime scene, find clues, conduct historical research, locate suspects, run interrogations, examine the evidence, and come to an educated conclusion. Exquisite graphics and true-to-life scenery compliment the gritty realism of Crimes and Punishments. Never before has a game brought you this close to a crime scene, or this close to cold, hard justice.

Starting March 16th, you’ll also be able to grab Lords of the Fallen for free (Reg. $27). This is in addition to February’s freebie, Styx: Master of the Shadows (Reg. $30), which will be available until the 14th.

Xbox 360 titles include Supreme Commander 2 (Reg. $20), which is discounted in the first half of the month, and Borderlands (Reg. $12) during the last two weeks. As always, Xbox One owners will be able to take advantage of these two games via backwards compatibility.
