Marshall’s first Bluetooth headphones tout impressive battery life alongside a retro design

The iconic music component company Marshall has released its first pair of Bluetooth-enabled headphones. While the brand is known for its pro-grade amplifiers and speakers, it’s also been churning out consumer-focused products for a few years.

Marshall’s previous hits include its line of Bluetooth speakers and wired headphones. However, today’s release is the first to cut the cord. The Major II Bluetooth has the same familiar design as its wired brother but packs an impressive battery life and internals. Much like Fender’s recently-released headphones, Marshall hopes to cash in on name recognition and its vintage styling. More details below.

First off, the design on the Major II Bluetooth is spot on. The legendary Marshall logo adorns the earcups alongside a throwback design highlighted by a splash of gold accents. An analogue knob offers control over playback and volume, as well as phone functionality. It’s a minor feature, but one that is notable over the traditional plastic buttons that you’ll find on most headphones.

Marshall has opted for aptX-supported Bluetooth and 40mm drivers to power the Major II’s. According to the press release, the internals have been “tuned for excellent bass response, smooth mids and sizzling highs.” There is a removable coiled cable with a built-in mic and remote if you prefer to be wired in or have a high-resolution source.

Perhaps most impressive is the 30 hour battery life that Marshall promises. While many headphones struggle to last for 20 hours on a single charge, these headphones provide nearly a week of regular listening.

Marshall is set to release its Major II Bluetooth Headphones “later this spring” in the United States with a $150 price tag. If you like the styling and don’t require Bluetooth, be sure to check out the wired version which is currently available for around $100 at Amazon.
