Review: Perfect Apple Watch case for Nike+ bands, 50% off deal

We’ve told you plenty of times before about our favorite Apple Watch bands. Adding one of these third-party accessories can be an excellent way to change up the look of your timepiece. It can also save money in comparison to buying Apple’s official bands.

Another nifty way to add protection and style is with a case. If you’re someone like myself or the other writers here at 9to5 that use Apple Watch as a fitness tracker, a little extra shielding can help provide peace of mind.

Today, I’m taking a look at OULUOQI’s new Apple Watch case that’s designed to match Nike’s popular bands. It’s available in Volt Yellow or Gray and we even have a nice exclusive discount for you as well. Head below for more…

To be honest, I was pretty skeptical when accessory-makers first started rolling out Apple Watch cases. It just didn’t seem like a necessity to me. But after nearly two years since I purchased my Apple Watch, I can see the value. I have a handful of nicks and scrapes on the shell that could have been protected with an add-on such as this.

There really isn’t too much to the product itself. It comes in a matching cardboard envelope and is simply a formed piece of TPU material. OULUOQI already offers knock-off Nike bands, so it matches its cases perfectly.

Installation is easy enough: simply remove your watch bands and slide the rigid case over top of your watch. There are designated cut-outs for the Digital Crown as well as the speaker and microphone. The home button gets a raised and textured marking so it’s easier to find, too.

As you’d assume, adding a case like this will bring some additional bulk to your Apple Watch. Coming in at less than one ounce, you won’t noticed too much of a difference. It’s largely a visual change. Personally, I love the new look. I’ve grown accustom to the same old Space Gray color on my wrist each day, so the fresh visuals is a welcome enhancement.

There really isn’t too much else to say about the OULUOQI Watch Case. For what it is, a third-party add-on, it’s a solid product overall. The regular going rate is $15.99, which is a bit pricey in my opinion. But applying promo code PGBNOZC4 knocks the final price down to $8.15 Prime shipped. This offer is good on the Gray and Volt Yellow models.
