Last week, Amazon announced Prime Day would be kicking off on July 10th at 9PM ET. While you may be familiar with how deals will be popping up throughout the 30-hour sale, there are a few tricks that can help you be prepared for the big day. Head below for a couple of simple ways to make Prime Day 2017 go a bit smoother.
Prime Membership
It may seem obvious, but you’ll want to be sure that your Prime membership is up-to-date. The $99 subscription service offers a number of perks like two-day shipping and access to Amazon’s digital services, but it’s also a requirement for Prime Day. You can re-up your membership here if needed.
Alexa
A year ago Amazon started offering exclusive discounts for Prime members that had an Alexa-enabled device attached to their accounts. You’ll need to order directly through the speaker to lock-in these savings. Look for Amazon to ramp up the number of offerings this year that require an Echo or Dot. If you’ve been on the fence about Amazon’s in-house speakers this may be a great time to order.

Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card
If you want to go above and beyond, you’ll want to snag an Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Signature Card ahead of next week. This handy credit card offers 5% back on Amazon purchases with a Prime membership, as well as up to 2% back elsewhere. Amazon is also currently offering a $70 gift card when you are approved.
Load up on Amazon credits
Aside from the nice $70 offer with the Visa card above, there are a few other ways that you can grab Amazon credits ahead of Prime day. One of our favorite offers is this $10 bonus that you’ll receive when streaming a movie at Amazon Instant Video for the first time. Enjoy a movie over the July 4th holiday and get some free credit while you’re are it. Another great way is to purchase an Amazon Dash Wand, which includes a $20 credit, too. You can learn more about this deal here.

Obviously, follow along with us! As each of the deals roll in on Amazon’s official Prime Day hub, we’ll be picking out the best offers. You’ll want to be sure that you’re following us on Twitter or Facebook so the deals will show up in your feed as they happen. It’s also a good idea to have the Amazon app installed on your phone for the quickest checkout even while mobile.
