Update: Amazon has price matched the standard $200 discount on all Retina MacBook Pros, which is a better deal (Prime/potential tax benefits) for those of you that aren’t eligible for Best Buy’s education discount.

As part of their Labor Day Sale, Best Buy is extending a $200 discount to every Retina MacBook Pro for every buyer. To make the deal even sweeter, students and educators can save an additional $100 on top of the sale prices. A valid .edu email address is required for the education discount.

These combined savings will net you a 13″ Retina MacBook Pro with a 2.5GHz i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, and a 128GB SSD for $1,199.99. That is a total savings of $300 off the retail price of $1,499. There are two 13″ and 15″ (starts at $1,699.99) standard configuration models available in this sale. Deal ends Monday.

Remember the new Retina MacBook Pro does not come with an optical drive. If you cannot live without a DVD/CD drive you can pickup a discounted Apple SuperDrive fresh off an Amazon price drop for just $70. A total savings of 11%.

Valid 8/30/13-9/2/13 – Labor Day 4-Day Sale, Friday–Monday, Plus Free Store Pickup
