With the release of the extremely modest upgrades to its MacBook Air line today, Apple has put a lot of existing inventory in a lurch, allowing retailers to slash prices. Apple’s upgrade included a updated processor which inched the needle from 1.3GHz to 1.4GHz. Otherwise, the MacBook Are identical.
What’s not identical is the price. Dropping the Airs $100 allows retailers like MacMall and B&H to drop prices even more on these new in box EOL machines that also include Apple’s 1 year warranty (and both companies offer AppleCare upgrade pricing that is better than Apple’s own prices).
