The new slimmer MOOV NOW fitness tracker coaches you through your workouts

Today MOOV is back with a new second generation of its fitness tracker. This update, the MOOV NOW, builds on the original model with a slimmed down design and an updated voice coach that encourages you along the way.

MOOV’s latest offering measures your activity in a three-dimensional way, using multiple sensors that track motion through different planes. Head below for more information and to learn how you can save 40% when you pre-order this new device.

MOOV NOW can be strapped to your wrist, ankle or arm and tracks many different measurables during your workout. Aside from the obvious steps or calories, it takes notice of the type of workout that you’re engaged in. For example, MOOV knows that you’re swimming and that you’re focused on the butterfly in that workout. It will coach you as swim, encouraging you to change your form or slow down if needed. Communication with the tracker is handled via Bluetooth earbuds or with the included smartphone app.

The multi-dimensional tracking allows for MOOV to monitor behavior while doing a number of different activities. During a run it might note that your impact on each step is too high or that you need to switch gears during biking. Unlike traditional fitness trackers, it’s better to think of MOOV like a video game that follows your motion. It’s not just measuring your heart rate and making educated guesses on calories burned, MOOV focuses more on your movements and how that effects your workout. Of course, it is all tracked via a smartphone app that records your data over longer periods of time.

Unlike the bulkier previous generation, the new MOOV NOW has a slimmed down design and comes in multiple colors and different size bands. It is available for pre-order today direct from MOOV with a special discounted price of $60 for one (40% off), or $100 for two (50% off). It will ship in the fall. The previous generation model is available at Amazon for $80.
