This Lightning cable cleverly solves an annoyance every iPhone user deals with

When the Lightning connecter was originally revealed alongside iPhone 5 back in 2012, Apple singled out its reversibility as a major feature. It made plugging in your iPhone an even more brainless task. The only problem is that being reversible doesn’t help if you can’t see where the Lightning port is on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod. That’s when Sewell’s ingenious Lightning cable comes in handy…

Think back to how many times you were laying in bed ready to fall asleep or woke up in the middle of the night and realized you forgot to plug in your iPhone. At that point you can either turn on your bedroom lights (and risk the wrath of your half-asleep wife) or aimlessly feel around your iPhone to try and perfectly line up the Lightning connector. I’ve been there, done that and neither option is good.

Sewell tackled this problem by building a capacitive touch LED light right into its new Luminid Touch and Flash Lightning Cable. Just touch the body of the Lightning connector to light up your immediate surroundings, making it easier to plug in your iPhone in the dark. The light immediately turns off when you remove your finger from the touch sensor. You shouldn’t have to worry about reliability with this cable since it’s MFi-certified.

Sewell’s Luminid Touch and Flash Lightning Cable is available from Amazon for $16.95 Prime shipped.
