Following Microsoft, EA and Konami’s Gamecom 2015 announcements, Blizzard has now detailed the latest expansion to the World of Warcraft saga. On stage today in Germany, the company showed off a pair of new videos for the upcoming Warcraft: Legion expansion along with some details on what players can expect from the MMORPG’s latest add-on:
It appears as though Legion will cater to new gamers as well as being deeply rooted in the ongoing lore of the game at large, reaching about as far back as it gets. The trailer seen above features an orc shaman known as Gul’dan, long-time players will recognize, but below we get a closer look at what to expect in-game from the upcoming expansion:
Blizzard is adding in a brand new Demon Hunter class, that is based on the new antagonists, along with a series of new artifacts that also tie in closely with Legion’s story. The expansion will introduce what looks to be a sizable new area known as The Broken Isles, plus new class halls, followers and a completely re-worked character progression and honor system.
Players will be able to prep for the new adventure ahead of its launch in the Tomb of Sargeras, Alleria, Turalyon, Emerald Nightmare and the Dalaran player city hub. Not only are they all locations long-time players will be familiar with, but they will also be making a return to Azeroth before Legion hits.
Outside of the beta that will launch sometimes this year, we are yet to get a specific release date from the folks at Blizzard. Until then you can get a complete breakdown of what Legion has to offer (at this point), over at the official site.
