Don’t Panic’s latest iPad Air 2 case is an astute all-in-one solution for every angle

iPad cases are a dime a dozen at this point, it seems. It’s hard to stand out in a sea of folios, keyboards and smart covers. But Don’t Panic’s iPad cases have managed to do just that, a few times over. After successfully rolling through a couple of Kickstarter campaigns, the guys behind this intriguing case are back with the third generation. Their campaign video is pretty clever, check it out below.

While the design is simple, there is a lot going on here. The main idea is to deliver a product that allows your iPad to be securely displayed in a number of different positions and locations. From the couch to the kitchen, on-the-go and at the coffee shop, Don’t Panic attempts to have you covered.

There are a series of snaps, sliders and a magnet that help this case maintain a certain position. Starting with a reclining chair couch, Don’t Panic’s case is able to rest across your knees with the display over your thighs. It can also be strapped to your leg for secured viewing as well.

Don’t Panic uses a “smart” steel-reinforced A-frame structure to hold your iPad in a variety of viewing angles. This would hopefully solve one of my personal pet peeves about many cases: they can’t always support themselves. I hate a droopy case. With portrait and landscape viewing angles, it’s pretty versatile. Don’t Panic even takes a page from Belkin’s book of tricks and includes a built-in mount for your refrigerator.

The third-generation Don’t Panic iPad Case and Stand is compatible with both the current and previous generation iPad Air. It also works with select shell cases, as long as there isn’t too much thickness. It is available in canvas and leather varieties. Don’t Panic just launched this campaign and has raised about 5% of its goal at the time of publishing. Currently, a pledge of $42 or more will deliver a case in the Spring.
