12-inch Retina MacBook $300 off across the board at B&H, prices start at just $999 – tax only in NY

B&H Photo has the deal of the year so far on Apple’s 12-inch Retina MacBook. The New York City-based Apple authorized reseller that only charges sales tax to New York residents knocks $300 off all Retina Macbooks. That means that the base model 1.1GHz/256GB starts at $999 shipped in Gold, Silver and Space Gray.  That’s $100 less than Apple charges for a refurbished unit ($1,099), a match for the lowest general sale price we’ve ever seen and within $50 of our lowest .edu mention (note: both of the previous all-time low deals included tax at purchase). Discount expires Feb 15 ’16 at 11:59 PM EST.

Step up to 512GB of storage for $1299 (also $300 off)

The faster processor models are also $300 off and start at $1449.

With the new MacBook, we set out to do the impossible: engineer a full-size experience into the lightest and most compact Mac notebook ever. That meant reimagining every element to make it not only lighter and thinner but also better. The result is more than just a new notebook. It’s the future of the notebook.
