Nintendo had its first post-Switch launch Direct presentation last night ahead of the release of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe later this month. We got release dates, new information and trailers/gameplay footage for some of the biggest upcoming titles including Splatoon 2, Minecraft Switch, ARMS, Pikmin and more. Nintendo also has some new Legend of Zelda amiibo on the way as well as some late entries to the Smash Bros. collection. Head below for all the highlights from the event:
Splatoon 2 Release Date/Gameplay:
Splatoon 2 is releasing for Nintendo Switch on July 21st with a brand new set of amiibo. While older Splatoon amiibo will be supported in the new game, the new offerings come as a 3-pack featuring Inkling Squid, Boy and Girl.
Salmon Run, a new four-player co-op mode, is coming to Splatoon 2! By teaming up with friends, players can take on a part-time job battling the new Salmonid species, which the Squid Research Lab reports might even be more lethal than the Octarians! When players fall in co-op mode, teammates can revive them by inking them on the battlefield. Splatoon 2 launches exclusively for Nintendo Switch on July 21.
Nintendo announced a new PvE gameplay mode known as Salmon Run which will see players fending of waves of enemies in 4-man teams.

Minecraft for Nintendo Switch
We now know Minecraft for Nintendo Switch will release digitally on May 11th. You can play with up to 7 other players online or 3 locally. We will also see the Mario-themed skin pack that released for Wii U available on the Switch version as well. A physical release will be coming some time later on.
ARMS Release Date/Gameplay:
Nintendo’s new springy ARMS fighter is set for release on June 16th. In the new trailer above we get a look at the 2-on-2 battle mode for the very time as well as a brand new fighter known as Min Min.
ARMS is up for pre-order now with a 20% off discount for Prime members. Along with the Nintendo Switch Dock going up for purchase on its own this summer, ARMS will be getting its own Neon Yellow Joy-Con.

Legend of Zelda/Smash Bros. amiibo
We are getting three new Legend of Zelda amiibo in the way of Majora’s Mask Link, Twilight Princess Link, and Skyward Sword Link. All of which come as additions to the The Legend of Zelda 30th anniversary series of Nintnedo’s come-to-life action figures and will hit store shelves on June 23rd.
After nearly 2 years of waiting, we are finally getting Cloud, Corrin, and Bayonetta amiibo based off each character’s look in Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS. All three of which will sport two different costumes and will release on July 21st. Cloud, for example, will have a Final Fantasy 7 outfit and one from Advent Children.

Hey, Pikmin!
We now have an official title for the new Pikmin game and an official release date alongside the new trailer above. Hey, Pikmin will release for Nintendo 3DS on July 28th.
The new 2D platformer take on the series will also get its own amiibo series that will come available on release day.
Nintendo also dedicated some time to three new 3DS Kirby games coming this year. The first two are digital titles based known as Team Kirby Clash Deluxe and Kirby 3D Rumble. Both of which are based on mini games found in Kirby: Planet Robobot. And lastly is a currently untitled multiplayer action game set in the Kirby universe scheduled to release during the 2017 holiday season. But we haven’t seen any game play thus far.

We also got a new look at the throwback Sonic Mania title which is releasing this summer along with some gameplay for the upcoming 3D Sonic Force (Holiday 2017). The video embedded above should be cued right up to the start of the Sonic trailers.
