What’s awesome about the Nintendo Switch is that you can take it with you and play it almost anywhere, but if you want to connect it to your friend’s TV, you have lug around the bulky dock to make the connection. Until now that is — the folks at SFANS have created an adapter/dock small enough to fit in your pocket so you can take it with you whereever you go. It’s currently on Indiegogo, but it has already met its funding goal with a month remaining in its campaign.
Okay, so it’s not technically a “dock” in the way that it holds your Switch, but it still works in a similar fashion. The SFANS portable dock works like a bridge between your Switch and your TV, connecting with the USB-C cable and the TV using HDMI. Just like a standard dock, this one charges your Switch as you play, and it also features more USB ports (two USB-C and one USB-A) to provide power to other things like your Pro Controller or Joy-Con charging cradle.
One major advantage this one has over Nintendo’s own first-party dock is its lower price. While Nintendo’s Switch dock will cost you $90, the SFANS dock will only set you back $60 if you pick one up through the its month long campaign. That’s a savings for 45% off the expected retail price of this device, so the SFANS dock and the Nintendo dock will be pretty closely priced when it gets its final release.

The way to use SFANS adapter is the same as the official one. Just need to connect an HDMI cable and power cable. Then your games can be output on TV.
The team at SFANS are very much super fans of the Nintendo Switch (Get it? S-FANS). When the team bought a Nintendo Switch for the first time they found the dock to be “clumpy, ugly and not easy to take.” Besides being super fans, the team of friends are also engineers. So it took them only one month to develop the SFANS adapter. They say that it is an excellent solution to the inconvenience issues of the traditional dock and that it also helps in avoiding your Switch screen from being scratched.
Its increased portability it offers over the standard dock should have Switch owners pretty excited, as its Indiegogo campaign has already surpassed the goal amount of $10,000. In fact, backers have pledged more than double that amount already. Expect this to be extremely successful run as there’s still a month left to go in the campaign.
