South Park: The Fractured But Whole PS4/Xbox One/PC October 17th:

South Park is back with The Fractured But Whole this month. Basically an interactive version of the TV show like the first game, just about any South Park fan should be giving this one a go. Even without the SP-themed turn-based battles and RPG systems, the cutscenes alone are worth the price of admission.

The kids are playing superheroes, and Cartman is determined to turn Coon and Friends into the biggest superhero franchise of all time. However, the villainous Professor Chaos emerges with an evil plan to eliminate Coon and Friends. The heroes need to work as a team to fight the chaos and terror that that grips the town.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole $60 or $48 for Prime members

Super Mario Odyssey Nintendo Switch – October 27th:

Super Mario Odyssey is finally releasing this month. While its somewhat odd approach to level design initially threw me off a bit, Odyssey has redeemed itself over the last couple months with new gameplay footage, some mini games and more. The new hat mechanic that allows players to assume the roll of many of the enemies and objects in the game is certainly one of its biggest hooks. While we have had a good look at the game’s environments, there is still much more to discover on the 27th when it finally hits store shelves.

Super Mario Odyssey is full of surprises and adventure! Check out this Nintendo Direct segment highlighting more of this incredible expansive world, Mario’s new friend Cappy, Super Mario Odyssey amiibo, Snapshot Mode, and so much more!

Assassin’s Creed Origins PS4/Xbox One/PC- October 27th

Assassin’s Creed Origins marks a return to the AC series after Ubisoft finally decided to take the year off in 2016. Developed by many of the same folks behind the stellar Black Flag, Origins brings players to ancient Egypt to uncover the truth behind how the Assassin’s Brotherhood came to be.

This time around the team has moved over to a much more realistic hit-box style combat system, akin to something like Dark Souls minus the punishing difficulty, as opposed to the classic setup. While only time will tell if players accept the changes and environment as a true rebirth for the franchise, it is pretty clear there is a ton of anticipation for this one. You can check out the Birth of the Brotherhood trailer above and the new stealth gameplay footage right here.

Assassin’s Creed Origins $60 or $48 for Prime members

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus PS4/Xbox One/PC October 27th:

This time around the Nazis have taken over the US and are systematically destroying the country as we know it, having completely “turned Manhattan into a wasteland.“ As B.J. Blazkowicz players will have to rally a resistance in order to save the world (once again) in the sequel to the amazing Wolfenstein: The New Order. You can expect to be dropping countless numbers of Nazis with another massive arsenal of weapons in this violent first person shooter.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus $60 or $48 for Prime members

Honorable mentions go to Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen (October 5th), Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions on 3DS (October 6th), Middle-Earth: Shadow Of War (October 10th), The Evil Within 2 (October 13th) and Gran Turismo Sport (October 17th).
