Retroduck, a fun and clever new iPhone dock is about to wrap up a successful Kickstarter campaign, and this product brings some unique charm to the world of iPhone docks. Retroduck comes in three different colors and turns your iPhone into a vintage TV.
Not only does Retroduck look great, but it’s highly-functional as well. It was designed to improve your iPhone’s audio, it can be used with or with a Lightning cable (not included), and also can be customized with hundreds of interchangeable accessories that you can produce with a 3D printer.
Retroduck looks like it will be fun to use in a variety of ways, from watching your favorite shows to games, in the kitchen or as a bedside dock. Also, Retroduck could pair nicely with Elago’s vintage Apple Watch dock (full review here).
Retroduck comes in two sizes, one that fits the iPhone 6/6s/7/8 and a plus size that works with the iPhone 6/6s/7/8 Plus. The dock is designed so that it’s easy to slide your iPhone in and out, and you can use Retroduck with or without the legs.
Retroduck comes in three colors, Classic Brown, Pop Red, and Mono White. The dock will reportedly be priced at $45/$50 after its Kickstarter campaign, but you can pick up a regular size Retroduck for a $36 pledge, while a plus sized dock goes for $40. With six days to go, Retroduck has had a successful campaign hitting over 2.5x its goal of raising $10,000.
There isn’t an iPhone X compatible Retroduck for now, but the company is working on it, along with an Android version. As always, remember that there aren’t any guarantees when it comes to backing a crowdfunding campaign. However, Retroduck looks like it’s in good shape to follow through with an estimated December delivery of the dock to its Kickstarter backers.
