Carriers start to announce iPhone X trade-in deals, save up to $350

up to $350

It’s that time of the year. Well, it’s that time of the year again. Apple’s iPhone X pre-order date is just a few days away, and if you’re anything like me, you’ll do whatever you can to save a few bucks on Apple’s $1,000+ phone. Carriers are here to help this time, offering savings of up to $350 off the retail price of an iPhone X over the course of 18-24 months.

It doesn’t matter whether you want to get your iPhone from Apple directly or through a carrier, there are several deals you can take advantage of. Right now we have deals from Sprint, Verizon, and T-Mobile. While AT&T has yet to jump into the mix, we expect them to at some point, along with major retail chains. As more deals come, we’ll keep you updated.

Apple’s recycling program:

Most people don’t realize that Apple has a recycling program, but they do. This trade-in service, which is powered by a third-party through Apple, offers up to $375 for an iPhone 7 Plus, up to $325 for an iPhone 7, and many other values for other devices. Apple seems to value their devices higher than other services like Gazelle, as they offer almost $50 more on trade-ins.

Apple currently only applies trade-in credits directly toward devices in-store, so if that’s what you want you’ll have to visit your local Apple Store next week to order an iPhone X. If you’re OK with getting an Apple Store gift card, that can easily be done online.

Sprint’s trade-in program:

Sprint is currently giving you up to $350 off the iPhone X on Sprint Flex with an eligible trade-in. Sprint Flex also includes Sprint’s iPhone Forever program which gives you the ability to upgrade your iPhone every 12-months. Eligible devices include:

  • iPhone 6S, 6S Plus, 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus
  • Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, S8, S8 Plus
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 5
  • Blackberry KeyONE
  • HTC U11
  • LG G5, G6, V20
  • Moto Z2 Force, Z2 Play, Z Droid, Z Play, Z Force Droid
  • Google Pixel, Pixel XL

Sprint’s deal gives you the iPhone X at $22.22/mo for 18-months, with a price increase to $41.67 for the remaining 6-months if you decide not to trade it in. In the end, you will finish out by paying around $650 for a $1,000 phone, so that’s not a bad deal at all.

T-Mobile’s trade-in program

T-Mobile launched their trade-in program initially with the iPhone 8/8 Plus back in September. T-Mobile seems to be offering a free upgrade to the next iPhone without the need for JUMP if you purchase the iPhone X, which is a great deal if so. We have reached out to T-Mobile for confirmation. The $300 trade-in comes in the form of 24 monthly bill credits through the T-Mobile EIP plan. The promotion is still eligible for T-Mobile’s JUMP plan, so if you pay 50% of your iPhone X off, you can easily swap to another device, like the next iPhone. Eligible phones for trade-in include:

  • iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S, 6S Plus, 7, 7 Plus

Verizon’s trade-in program:

Verizon is offering up to $300 off the iPhone X come pre-order time. For Big Red, you have to purchase the phone through them at $41.66/mo to begin with. Then, you can trade in your eligible phone (list below) for a bill credit over the course of 24-months. Verizon has more stipulations to their trade-in program but offers value for a larger array of devices.

$300 trade-in value:

  • iPhone 6S, 6S Plus, 7, 7 Plus
  • Google Pixel XL
  • LG G6
  • Moto Z2 Force
  • Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, S8, S8 Plus

$200 trade-in value:

  • iPhone 6, 6 Plus, SE
  • Google Pixel
  • LG G5, V20
  • Moto Z Force, Z Droid, Z2 Play
  • Galaxy S6, S6 Edge, S6 Edge Plus
  • Galaxy Note 5

$100 trade-in value:

  • iPhone 5, 5C, 5S
  • HTC 10
  • Moto Z Play
  • Galaxy S5
  • Galaxy Note 4, Note Edge
