OJO is the “world’s first projector for Nintendo Switch” and offers much more

There is certainly room for new accessories to improve the experience of the Nintendo Switch. We’ve been seeing chargers and docks from third-party accessory makers since the console’s release, but nothing like the new OJO projector that is currently being funded at Indiegogo. It has a built-in power bank to charge your Switch while it’s docked, a 200 lumen projector, and a high quality speaker among other features. The OJO just hit the crowdfunding site and has already met its funding goal of $30,000 within 24 hours of launching, meaning it most likely will be available at retail outlets in the near future.

This all-in-one device lets Switch players project games on to the wall or other flat surfaces. While doing so, the Switch will stay charged with OJO’s massive 20,400mAh battery. The screen it projects can be from 30-120-inches and has a 200 lumen brightness. You’ll also get great sound coming from its “high quality” 5W internal speaker. Texas Instruments provided the display technology and the OJO is equipped with DMD LED projector technology.

OJO has a 3.5mm audio jack that lets you connect headphones or external speakers to it. Plus, it also offers two USB 3.0 ports and an HDMI port that allows you to use the projector for other devices, not just the Switch. The projector body isn’t that much larger than a typical Switch dock. It measures in at 6.8 x 3.2 x 2.8 inches.

Of course, like all good new tech these days, it charges through one USB-C port. One full charge is reported to last up to four hours of continuous playtime. Fully charged, the OJO can refuel the Switch up to three times over when it is docked. Also, if you’re indoors you can use the optional external power source to keep the projector running. You can even use OJO as a portable charger for other devices.

Play all of your favorite games on any wall you like! Legend of Zelda, Mario Kart, Street Fighter, you name it. No more crowding around the Nintendo Switch’s tiny display while trying to enjoy a game of Mario Kart with your buddies.

A pledge of $269 or more will get you your own OJO off the early bird special at Indiegogo. That’s $100 off the future retail price and the current lowest you can get it for. If all goes as planned for OJO, shipping will begin this December (but don’t bet on being able to get one before the holidays).
