4K seems to be the new 1080p lately. With 8K TVs already being announced, it’s finally time for 4K to take its rightful place as king of current-format resolutions. LG is here to help that along with the announcement of its first-ever 4K UHD projector.
LG’s biggest claim with its first 4K projector is the size. If you have ever looked into adding a 4K projector to your home, then I’m going to assume you’ve already seen the size. If not, just take a peek below to see what normal 4K projectors look like compared to LG’s new 4K projector.
This new 4K projector from LG, dubbed the HU80KA, is set to be one of the most portable 4K projectors on the market. LG claims that the HU80KA is roughly half the size of normal projectors without sacrificing the image quality.
The HU80KA features 4K UHD with support for HDR10 so the colors and vibrancy are off the charts. With the ability to create up to a 150-inch screen at 2,500 lumens, this projector is bound to really give you a great experience. LG claims this is their brightest projector ever, so you shouldn’t have any issues with viewing this projector in most lighting.
Portability is key here, as LG designed this projector to be used in a multitude of ways without taking up a huge footprint. Because of its upright design, the projector can show great quality images whether placed on the floor, wall or mounted to the ceiling. This means no matter where you put the HU80KA projector from LG, you’ll have a great viewing time.
There is also a carrying handle and something called the “Auto Cord” function which we assume automatically rolls the power cord up when you’re done. This should make the HU80KA great for bringing outside, into the living room, and even on trips. The Mirror Reflector
This projector has two 7W speakers if you need built-in quality audio, but external speakers can be connected via HDMI, optical, or wirelessly via Bluetooth. There are also USB and Ethernet ports so you can easily control the TV. Running LG’s webOS 3.5, this projector has most of the popular streaming services that provide 4K content should you lack an actual 4K Blu-ray player.
No pricing is announced yet, but we should know more about the HU80KA at CES next week.
