ECOVACS brings voice control, laser scan mapping, more to new robotic cleaners at CES

CES 2018 is in full swing. While we’re seeing notable launches for new products throughout the home, companies like ECOVACS are turning their attention to saving you time. ECOVACS has unveiled three new robotic helpers for around the home, with two autonomous vacuum cleaners as well as a cordless window cleaner.

While Roomba may be one of the original robotic vacuums, ECOVACS’ line of cleaners have done extremely well breaking into the scene. Bringing features like smartphone control, automated vacuuming sessions and more, all at a more affordable price point, ECOVACS’ latest releases look to build on that with voice control, laser mapping and mopping capabilities.

At the forefront of ECOVACS’ new releases comes two new DEEBOT robotic vacuum cleaners. Both the OZMO 610 and 930 come equipped with mopping functionality alongside their expected vacuuming. You’ll also find enhanced app control, additional vacuuming modes and more for both additions to the vacuum cleaner lineup.

The DEEBOT 610 is highlighted by Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant control, allowing you to command your vacuuming robot with just your voice and clean your home without literally lifting a finger. It also sports upgraded smart cleaning path software to be more effective at picking up dirt.

But on the higher-end side, the OZMO 930 boasts some impressive additional features compared to its more affordable counterpart. Just like the OZMO 610, you’ll find voice control and selective cleaning modes, but the 930 is the first of ECOVACS’ lineup that incorporates Smart Navi laser scan mapping to tackle cleaning. This leverages the same technology found in autonomous cars to create accurate maps of your home’s layout for more efficient cleaning.

With what may be the most anticipated of ECOVACS’ releases today is the latest enhancement to its line of window cleaners, the WINBOT X. The new cordless window cleaning bot ditches many of the pains of its previous generation models associated with being tethered. Cutting the cord allows WINBOT X to move freely along windows and thanks to new safety features, makes window cleaning more reliable.

As of now there’s no specific release dates for any of the three new robotic cleaners, but they are all said to be available sometime during Q2 of this year, at least according to ECOVACS.

The Ozmo 610 will launch at a more affordable $399 price tag, while its more feature-packed relative will sell for $599. In terms of the WINBOT X, it will launch with a $449 price tag.

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 7, 2018 /PRNewswire/ — ECOVACS ROBOTICS, an innovator in robotic home cleaning technology, today announced it is a CES Innovation Award Honoree winner for its Cordless WINBOT – WINBOT X. The first-of-its kind original WINBOT revolutionized the window cleaning experience in 2011. In its latest iteration, the now cordless WINBOT X moves freely along windows as it cleans, rather than being limited by the robot’s proximity to a power source. Additionally, the newest generation of WINBOT boasts four new safety features, allowing the WINBOT to adapt to your window, and move intelligently and safely.

“The WINBOT X represents the next evolution in window cleaning technology. By removing the power cord, the robot is able to move freely across the surface it is cleaning, regardless of whether or not the window has a frame,” said David Qian, President of the International Business Unit at ECOVACS ROBOTICS. “We look forward to showcasing this award-winning technology at CES, as well as new first-to-market technologies in our latest robotic vacuums, the DEEBOT OZMO 930 and DEEBOT OZMO 610.”

ECOVACS’ robotic vacuums are intelligently developed with three mantras:

  • Deliver the latest technology to market
  • Deliver the best value to our owners
  • Protect user data

Both the DEEBOT OZMO 610 and 930 come equipped with ECOVACS’ latest OZMO™ mopping technology in addition to vacuuming. The DEEBOT OZMO 930 is designed with both Google Home and Amazon Alexa compatibility for hands-free cleaning, adding more products to ECOVACS’ line of the largest smart-home compatible devices on the market.

Features of these models include:

DEEBOT OZMO 930:

  • Smart Navi laser scan mapping, the same technology in autonomous vehicles, to create accurate maps for efficient cleaning routes
  • Adaptive Floor Sensing (AFS) to automatically increase suction when on carpet, ensuring a deeper clean and to dynamically modify the vacuum’s path when in mopping mode
  • OZMO™ mopping is a complete system with an electronically-controlled water pump, sensors that monitor water flow, and controls to stop the flow ensuring a consistent cleaning result.
  • App control to allow owners to schedule cleanings remotely, prioritize specific areas to clean or avoid specific areas
  • Amazon Alexa and Google Home integration to enable responses to voice commands delivered through Amazon and Google smart speakers.
  • Multiple cleaning modes, including auto mode for general cleaning, spot mode for spot cleaning and carpet identification for carpet cleaning

DEEBOT OZMO 610:

  • Smart cleaning path for effective cleaning results
  • OZMO™ mopping is a complete system with an electronically-controlled water pump, sensors that monitor water flow, and controls to stop the flow ensuring a consistent cleaning result.
  • App control to allow owners to schedule cleanings, start DEEBOT remotely, choose edge or spot cleaning, and monitor the cleaning status.
  • Multiple cleaning modes including interchangeable suction option, and selective cleaning modes that ensure your DEEBOT always cleans hairs, dirt, and debris effectively and efficiently.
  • Amazon Alexa integration to enable responses to voice commands delivered through Amazon Echo devices. Google Home capability available in the second half of 2018.

“Our goal with the OZMO™ series of robotic vacuums is to address some of the most common frustrations consumers have with their floor cleaning robots, like the inability to clean both hard surfaces and carpets, and not mopping effectively” said David Qian. “These intelligent robots deliver the latest technology to market and the best value to our owners, all while safeguarding user data.”

WINBOT X will be released in Q2, 2018 at a MSRP of $449.
OZMO 610 will be released in Q2, 2018 at a MSRP of $399.
OZMO 930 will be released in Q2, 2018 at a MSRP of $599.
