Riese & Müller unveils two new eBikes touting top speeds of 28 mph and 100 mile ranges

eBikes have skyrocketed in popularity as of late, representing not only an environmentally friendly, but convenient way to take your daily commutes. Riese & Müller are eBike veterans, having released models spanning a wide range of form and functionality. Now the company is back with 2 new electric rides, both of which sport Riese & Müller’s iconic design alongside boasting ranges of up to 100 miles.

To kick off 2018, Riese & Müller has unveiled 2 new eBikes that will be joining its lineup of electric vehicles. Both the New Charger and Supercharger are the first fully integrated eBikes from the company, which carries with it some interesting new designs as well as allowing Riese & Müller to incorporate new noteworthy functionality.

With any new eBike, the first metric that stands out is always tied to range. And in this case, both of Riese & Müller’s new rides can make it up to 100 miles on a single charge. This impressive range has a few new upgrades to thank, mainly that these eBikes can now be outfitted with dual batteries.

Relying on what has been deemed the Bosch PowerTube charging system, both bikes can now store 2 batteries within their frames. This preserves the classic bike design without added bulk or sacrificing functionality. You can expect to hit top speeds of up to 28 mph thanks to the built-in dual 500W batteries.

Ensuring that the new eBikes packed the visual appeal to back up functionality was a big emphasis for the folks at Riese & Müller as well. Thanks to the Bosch PowerTube-based system, the New Charger and Supercharger boast a combination of “sporty design and comfortable riding”, at least according to Riese & Müller’s CEO, Heiko Müller.

Both new eBikes are available in a variety of configurations that offer Fox suspension fork, Rohloff gear hub, and off-road tires and more should you need further enhancements. You’ll be able to choose between electric red metallic, black and pearl white color schemes.

Availability is still unknown at this point, so there’s no telling when you’ll be able pick up Riese & Müller latest. As of now we do know how much the w eBikes will cost; with both models running a pretty hefty retail price tag. The New Charger enters at the low-end price point, costing $5,469. On the higher-end side, the SuperCharger starts at $5,699.

Both are by no means inexpensive, but they certainly offer some of the most compelling feature sets on the market, so at least you’d be getting your moneys worth should you need the bolstered range.

Tuesday, March 6, 2018 — Riese & Müller manufacturer of premium E-Bikes, kicks off the 2018 season with the launch of the New Charger and Supercharger models in North America.

The New Charger and Supercharger are the first, fully integrated E-Bikes from Riese & Müller, and incorporate the Bosch PowerTube battery into the successful Charger lineup. The integration of the Bosch PowerTube creates a seamless aesthetic, with the battery blending into the downtube.
