If there’s one thing that parents worry about, it’s their kids. Sure, I don’t have any, but I am around parents (and children) quite often. Keeping track of older kids is getting easier now that most of them are getting phones and things like Apple’s Find my Friends is a thing. But what if your kid is younger and you don’t want to give them a phone? That’s where Jiobit comes into play, and they just released a new tracker that is sure to make parents everywhere happy.
Jiobit at one point looked into making a watch that kids could wear in order for parents to track them, but it would have been cumbersome and annoying to wear. This new tracker is perfect for putting anywhere on your younger child.
It looks like a small triangle and is about the size of a battery, according to Jiobit. This device features cellular connectivity so no matter where your kid is, you can easily track them. This is great for when you’re at a park, or even when they’re out riding a bike.
With their location updating once every 10 seconds, you’ll always know where your precious one is. There is also a geofence option called “Trusted Places.” This is great for when the kids are at daycare, visiting a friend, or anything similar.
Trusted Places notifies you when your child either arrives or leaves a location. Jiobit uses school as a demonstration here, showing that you can know when your kid arrives at school on the bus, and then they pull out of the parking lot.
Another huge benefit to Jiobit is its mobile geofence. This is similar to the geofence above, but tethers to your phone. If you’re shopping in the store, and your child accidentally wanders off, this could easily alert you to that, saving valuable time in finding them.
Trusted people works the same way. By adding someone to your child’s “Care Team,” you’ll not only know where your kid is, but also who they are with. This uses Bluetooth to the person’s phone and will likely require them to have the Jiobit app installed.
Jiobit can be clipped to shorts, put in shoes, in a pocket, belt loop, shirt tag, anywhere. It’s truly a great tool to know where your child is at all times when they’re not in your eyesight.
Pricing starts at $99.99 when you commit to an annual contract, and $149.99 if you’d rather go month to month. Service starts at $7.99 per month, and is required for the cellular functions of the tracker to be active. A 30-day risk-free trial is included with every purchase, so you can make sure this is something you’d like before fully committing to it, even on the annual plan.
