Just a few weeks ago, we reported that Amazon Prime members would start to see discounts at Whole Foods stores, but the details were scarce at the time. Now we have all of the details from Amazon directly and it’s quite awesome. With exclusive discounts for Amazon’s Prime members, shopping at Whole Foods could become a lot more tempting.
Amazon is offering its Prime members an additional 10% off of hundreds of sale items throughout Whole Foods stores starting in Florida, and will be rolling out nationwide this summer. There are also deep discounts on select popular products.
These deep discounts are weekly sales and are on a selection of best-selling items.
This is just another reason to become an Amazon Prime member if you aren’t one already. Normally, shopping “healthier” can be more expensive, but with this discount, you’ll be able to buy better food for likely near the same cost as normal grocers. Obviously, sales can vary here so be sure to double-check as the weeks go by.
This week, from today, May 16th to May 22nd, the exclusive deals are as follows:
- Sustainably-sourced, wild-caught halibut steaks: $9.99/lb., save $10/lb.
- Organic strawberries: 1 lb. for $2.99, save $2
- Cold brew coffee at Allegro coffee bars: 50% off 16 oz.
- KIND granola: 11 oz. bag 2/$6
- 365 Everyday Value sparkling water: 12-pack case buy one, get one free
- Magic Mushroom Powder: 50% off
- Plus, an additional 10% off hundreds of sale items throughout the store
Strawberries can be expensive, and here in Florida, I’ve seen some retailers selling them for $4.50 per pound. This week’s sale gives you 1-lb. of organic strawberries for just $2.99, which is $2 off the normal price. And this is just the beginning.
All of this and more is available if you become a Prime member. With free two-hour delivery through Prime now, 5% back on Whole Foods purchases when you use the Amazon Prime Rewards Visa Card, and more exclusive benefits coming throughout 2018, being a Prime member is only getting more rewarding as time goes on. Amazon has been giving its Prime members benefits at Whole Foods since 2017 and it’s only getting better with the latest additions.
Keep in mind Amazon just raised the cost of Prime by 20% from $99 to $119, but with these added benefits, if you shop at Whole Foods anyway, it’s a no-brainer that it’s time to upgrade and get a new membership (or renew an expiring one).
“This new Prime benefit at Whole Foods Market is a perfect pairing of healthy and delicious food at even more affordable prices,” said Cem Sibay, Vice President, Amazon Prime. “Our vision is that every day Prime makes your life better, easier and more fun, and shopping at Whole Foods Market with exclusive deals and savings is all of this and more.”
In order to get started here, just download the Whole Foods Market app (Android or iOS) and sign into your Amazon account. From there, just scan the app’s Prime Code at checkout and your savings will be locked in.
