Fornite has enjoyed unrivaled success in 2018 as revenues have soared thanks to its availability across various platforms. With so much demand, it’s only natural that the brand would start to expand into spin-offs to further cash-on on this success. Well, fan-favorite accessory-maker Funko Pop has announced this morning that it’s entering into a partnership with Fortnite on a new line of accessories modeled after its popular characters. Full details below.
Funko Pop is responsible for those adorable characters that, while meant to be collectibles or toys, have turned into a must-have on YouTube battlestation videos. There’s now thousands of examples in the lineup from video games, musicians, culture heroes and more. It’s only natural that Fortnite would be extended the same treatment.
Officially, Funko is planning on shipping various Fortnite-themed toys across ten of its product lines. There will be everything from the popular big-head figures mentioned above to clothing and more.
Unfortunately, Funko has yet to officially lift the veil on any designs along with today’s news, but these new releases are expected to be on store shelves by the end of the year. Good timing, as we can only imagine how popular these Fortnite-themed toys will be.
If we had to put any guess on what you can expect, Funko is sure to recreate the game’s now iconic characters as big-head accessories. But you can also expect the popular lama, Battle Bus and other accessories to make an appearance as keychains and other collectibles. As Fortnite moves to new seasons, you can assume that new gear will cycle through the Funko Pop doors as well.
Funko Pop generally sells its collectibles in the $10 range over at Amazon, and you can expect similar pricing on any upcoming Fortnite releases. While the lineup originally started as a true collectible, as the brand blew up with popularity, Funko cashed in and flooded with market with various recreations. We’re looking forward to seeing what Funko is able to do with Fortnite’s fun and colorful inventory of characters.
