It seems Fortnite is here to stay, and the latest merchandise set to take the world by storm is Nerf guns. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen Nerf make a video game come to life, as earlier this year it was announced that Overwatch weapons would be making their way to store shelves in 2019.
It was recently announced that Fortnite Monopoly would be hitting shelves on October 1st, just in time for holiday shopping. Will Fortnite Nerf guns also find their into our homes soon enough?
Hasbro recently announced that they would be bringing Fortnite-themed Nerf guns to the world in 2019. This is on the back of Fortnite Monopoly being announced just last week.
Battle Royale looks like the new “in” game mode as even Call of Duty and Battlefield are jumping on the bandwagon. This Nerf product line will let your kids take Fortnite gameplay off of the big screen and outside, which is a great change of pace for many in today’s technology-centered world.
I, for one, am excited for this launch as it could help many kids get off the couch and outside to play with friends once more, as it was recently reported that many teenagers prefer texting over face-to-face communication.
This would have been awesome for me as a kid, as I loved playing Nerf battles outdoors with friends and being able to bring our favorite games to life would have been even better.
Bringing popular games like Fortnite to non-digital formats could help spur children to play together more and learn team-building in a real-world scenario outside of the console or computer games.
There’s no word yet on how these guns will “fire”, be it the normal Nerf-style of darts, lasers like in the company’s recently-announced Laser Ops Pro line, or maybe a new style. Regardless of how they fire, there’s no doubt that kids worldwide will be begging parents for Fortnite-style nerf guns.
This type of product line seems to be the new normal. Video games are taking a more prominent place in our world, and many companies are taking advantage of this.
Regardless of whether you play Fortnite or not, this is an awesome product launch all around. Through Fortnite’s monopolization of different markets, like board games and now outdoor activities, Epic, the company behind the game, is helping to get kids off the couch and enjoying each other’s company once again.
