Nintendo is bringing many classics back to life with its Switch console. Just yesterday the company announced NES-style controllers to use when playing original titles. Nintendo recently told the world of its latest plans for new titles, one of which has me very excited.
I used to play Luigi’s Mansion years ago, and it was one of my favorite Mario games. Back in 2001 when it came out, everyone loved it. Now, Nintendo is back with Luigi’s Mansion 3 (a working title) and just yesterday Nintendo showed the world a short 37 seconds of what’s to come.
I have great memories sitting around on my GameCube with friends and family playing the original Luigi’s Mansion. From creeping around the house finding ghosts, to the wonderful mini-games, it was a fun time all around.
The gameplay in Luigi’s Mansion 3 looks similar to its predecessors and that’s what I love about Nintendo. Somehow, the company can find ways to release new titles, with updated graphics, yet still capture classic gameplay from years past.
There’s not much to go on here except for a few short seconds of gameplay but that’s enough to hold me over while we wait for more information from the gaming giant.
Nintendo has yet to release a specific plot for the game, obviously, but that should be coming in the following months leading up to its release in 2019.
The company left many things up in the air with this announcement, however. The title itself could be changed, as noted by the (Working Title) that follows “Luigi’s Mansion 3” on the YouTube video, and the date itself is very vague just stating “in 2019” – no denominator for if it will be in the early, mid, or late part of the year.
If you can’t wait that long for it to release, Nintendo is set to release a remake of Luigi’s Mansion on the company’s 3DS and 2DS this October, which could help fans young and old get into the proper mindset for Luigi’s Mansion 3 next year.
I’m stoked for what’s going on with the Nintendo Switch. From Online Services launching later this month to new titles like Super Smash Bros. and others coming out soon, Nintendo’s portable console is one to have this holiday season.
There’s plenty of new content coming out for the Nintendo Switch in the coming months to keep us busy while we wait for more great content next year. What are you most excited to see launch for the Switch? Let us know in the comments below or on social media!
