Back in April we covered one creator’s efforts to combine their Nintendo Switch with LEGO bricks. Now the same tinkerer is back with another round of custom Switch accessories. This time, they’ve attempted to recreate Nintendo’s very own Labo Variety Kit. The results are just about as fantastic as can be, so you’ll want to head below for a closer look.
Earlier in the year, Vimal Patel created a few different LEGO Switch controllers that took the shape of a gamepad and steering wheel. Soon after, Nintendo showed how intricately-folded cardboard can stack up to impressive accessories for the hybrid console. Now Patel is back and taking things to a whole other level.
This time Patel’s inventions include a recreation of the Labo piano, motorbike and fishing rod as well as a vertical controller. They’ve done a phenomenal job not only nailing the look of these accessories, but also incorporating the same functionality as well. The pairing of a working Technic frame on these builds is impressive by itself. But the fact that each of the models are then completed with brick-built exteriors makes everything even more eye-catching.
Luckily the custom Nintendo Switch Joy-Con rails can be downloaded from Thingiverse should you have a 3D printer. So those looking to get in on the action of designing their own controllers and accessories.
