J.Crew is known for their high-quality pieces that will give you a polished look and now they’ve recently come out with a collection called The J.Crew Icons. In the new line, they’ve looked at fashion over the past centuries and found the pieces that have stood the test of time. Some of the items in this line include jackets, suits, blazers, shoes, jewelry and more. The prices in this collection are a touch higher than normal J.Crew rates, due to the timeless design of each piece that can be worn for years. Head below to find our favorites.
One of my favorite items for men is the Bomber Jacket. Not only is it perfect for fall but it also features great history. The modern bomber (also known as the MA-1) was first made in the 1950s and worn by WWII’s military flight men. Its navy color is extremely versatile to dress up or down and you can style this jacket with jeans, joggers, slacks and more for a variety of looks. This jacket is priced at $228 and will be a go-to for years to come.
For women, the Trench Coat is a staple in any women’s wardrobe and I love the length of this one. This coat also became popular in the 1950’s and was named after soldiers fighting in the trenches of Europe. This elegant coat is perfect for work or events and its elegant design will give you a polished look wherever you go. Plus, its tie-waist is very flattering on any silhouette and I love its tortoise-shell buttons. This trench is also priced at $228.
If there is one piece every man should own in their wardrobe it should be an Oxford Shirt. J.Crew says that this shirt is “Prized for its comfort and versatility, it’s a mainstay of preppies, street-style stars and everyone in between.”
This classic shirt can be styled in so many ways including with jeans, slacks, shorts, under jackets and much more. Also, the material of this shirt is unique, it feels like it’s infused with stretch, however it’s 100% cotton that was woven loosely and then washed for a comfortable worn-in feel. Plus, this button-down shirt is available in eight color options and is priced at $70.
Another iconic piece to add to your wardrobe from this collection is the women’s Cashmere Sweater. The cashmere sweater originated in India and has been around since the 13th century. This sweater will never go out of style and its soft fabric will make you never want to take it off. Most cashmere sweaters are extremely expensive, however this version starts at just $58.
