Over the past few months, Nintendo has been gearing up for the holiday season with consistent announcements regarding new and upcoming Switch titles. Accessory makers have been jumping on the opportunity to benefit as well. This morning, Hori debuted a few new Pokémon-themed add-ons just ahead of Let’s Go, Pikachu and Eevee’s release next month.
Hori is one of the more well-known third-party accessory manufacturers. The company has been releasing controllers, cases and other Nintendo equipment since the Wii reigned all those years ago. With Super Smash Bros. Ultimate hogging most of the spotlight throughout the latter half of this year, Hori is turn its attention elsewhere for its latest.
A batch of new Pokémon-themed accessories are now on the way. The first Pokémon titles for the Switch are right around the corner with a November 16th release date. Fans have been clamoring to catch ’em all for over a year and a half on Nintendo’s newest console and Hori is looking to get in on that hype with its own Switch add-ons.
Hori has showcased five new accessories this morning, all of which will be arriving on November 16th to correspond with the Let’s Go release. They all carry the Nintendo seal of approval as has been the norm for some time now.
The new Pokémon accessories are headlined by three new Switch carrying cases. All sporting various insignias, there’s a red Poké Ball case and one showcasing Pikachu and Eevee. The most notable golden aluminum Pikachu case is comprised of more premium materials than the other two. The former will sell for $19.99 while the higher-end model will go for $24.99.
My favorite of the new accessories is the Poké Ball Plus Drop & Charge Stand. The USB-powered dock allows you to quickly charge the unique controller just by dropping it in. It pairs with a tiny USB-C dongle to achieve wireless charging. It’ll retail for $19.99.
Lastly, Hori has announced a new Pikachu colorway of its Switch D-Pad Controller. We got our first look at the Joy-Con replacement back in August and today’s release joins the existing Mario and Zelda versions. It’ll fetch the same $25 price tag as the already available versions.
All five of Hori’s new Nintendo Switch accessories are available for preorder. They should arrive alongside your copies of Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee. I know a lot of Nintendo fans are preoccupied with Smash Bros. Ultimate, but I’m pretty excited about the latest addition to the Pokémon franchise. These new Switch add-ons are great ways to show off your love for Pokémon.
