Black Friday 2018 is rapidly approaching and some retailers are already divulging ads and shopping guides. Amazon is one of the most popular destinations for Black Friday shopping, so it’s imperative that you’re ready to go on the big day. Head below to find out how to prepare for Amazon Black Friday.
When is Black Friday at Amazon?
This year Black Friday at Amazon is on November 23rd, 2018, the day following Thanksgiving. Amazon typically starts early sales in the lead up to Black Friday starting the first Monday of November. The best Black Friday deals will appear on Amazon’s Gold Box page beginning on Monday, November 19th, 2018.
Will Amazon be open on Thanksgiving?
Yes, Amazon will be open on Thanksgiving. Being an online store, shoppers can hit up Amazon.com at anytime for all of the best Black Friday deals.
When will the Amazon Black Friday ad be released?
In previous years, Amazon has released its Black Friday ad during the second week of November. Specifically in 2016, we saw the Amazon Black Friday ad pop up on November 11, but last year it was released on November 6th. This year the first Monday falls on November 6th, which is the earliest that we would expect to see Amazon’s Black Friday ad.
Amazon Free Shipping
Free shipping is available at Amazon for Prime members or with orders of $25 or more.
How to save at Amazon on Black Friday
There are two main ways to save at Amazon on Black Friday. First, you need a Prime membership. Amazon currently charges $12.99 per month or $119 annually for this service that delivers free two-day delivery and access to streaming services like Amazon Prime Video.
During Black Friday it’s particularly important to have an Amazon Prime Membership. Not only will it mean fast two-day delivery on most purchases, but it also guarantees access to Prime-only offers. Typically Amazon’s best deals are reserved for those that pay for this service. These offers will be designated with Prime-only tags on both the Amazon Gold Box page and each individual item listing.
Two years ago Amazon began introducing Alexa-exclusive deals through the holiday shopping season. These special prices were only available to shoppers with an Echo device. Amazon requires shoppers to verbally place the order through Alexa to lock-in these special prices.
There are a number of Echo speakers currently available that would be suitable for these Alexa offers. Currently the lowest-priced Alexa speaker available is Amazon’s refurbished second generation Echo Dot at $30. Check out the entire family of Alexa devices right here.
Amazon also accepts promo codes, which are generally managed by third-party sellers. If a promotional code is available to lock-in extra savings we will share it on Electronicsforward.
Will there be Amazon Doorbusters?
No, Amazon does not offer Black Friday doorbusters. Instead, daily Gold Box deals are available each morning at 3AM EST or Midnight PST. Amazon’s Gold Box landing page is the best place to see each daily deal throughout November. Lightning deals will also pop-up on the same page throughout Thanksgiving week. Many of these offers sell out in minutes, so be sure to quickly press that buy button if you’re interested.
Will Amazon price match competitors on Black Friday?
Yes, Amazon will price match most competitors on Black Friday. Particularly you can assume that Amazon will match or exceed discounts seen at major retailers like Walmart, Best Buy, Target, B&H and others.
What will be on sale at Amazon Black Friday?
Everything. Amazon carries just about every category of product you can imagine, including electronics, home goods, fashion and more.
