More retro Switch Online games coming this month: Ninja Gaiden, Wario’s Woods, more

retro Switch Online games

We are getting some new retro Switch Online games today. That includes one ninja classic, a bunch of Lolo environmental puzzles and Mario’s other arch nemesis, Wario. Head below for all the details.

While it might not be the virtual console you were hoping for, Nintendo has steadily added new retro titles to the Switch Online library and things just keep getting better. After Zelda and NES Open additions back in October, the big N brought Metroid, arguably one of the best retro games of all-time, to the service just last month. Along side Samus’ original adventure, we saw Mighty Bombjack and TwinBee hit the online store shelves.

More Retro Switch Online Games:

This month, Nintendo is bringing Ninja Gaiden, Adventures of Lolo and Wario’s Woods. While all three are welcomed additions, Ninja Gaiden is clearly the big name title here. Infamously difficult, it is about as challenging as it is fulfilling. Players will take on the role of Ryu Hayabusa as he travels stateside to avenge his father’s death. You’ll need to make use of just about everything in your arsenal to tackle the 6 chapters (14 stages + boss fights) and actually make it through this wonderfully punishing experience.

Adventures of Lolo and Wario’s Woods bring some more light hearted puzzle-like experiences and are both welcomed additions to the retro Switch Online games library. All three of the new titles will go live on December 12th.

On opt of the retro Switch Online games, Nintendo also said more titles would be coming in January 2019 and that those Nintendo Entertainment System Controllers will begin shipping next week.

You can dive into the Switch Online starting from $3.99 for one month. It will run you $7.99 for 3 months and $19.99 for a full year membership. However, you can also opt for a family plan at $34.99. It supports up to 8 Nintendo accounts for an entire year.

There’s More Where Those Came From:

Nintendo Switch Online launched back in September with 20 titles alongside cloud saves/backups. Some of the best retro Switch Online games that have been on the service from the jump include some absolute classics as well. On top of the late Zelda, Ninja Gaiden and Metroid additions, you’re looking at Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 3, Donkey Kong titles, classic NES sports experiences and much more.
