CES 2019 is just around the corner in Las Vegas and many of the major players are already beginning to unveil their new products ahead of next week. Samsung is announcing a host of new monitors today including one unlike we’ve ever seen before. The new Space display sits directly flush against your wall with a design borrowed from its line of TVs. We’re also getting our first glimpse at a new UltraWide monitor geared towards gamers along with a handful of other releases. Head below for more details.
Samsung Space View display is made for minimalists
Headlining this year’s Samsung CES announcements is the Space display, which sports a unique design that sits directly flush against your workspace wall. But it’s not quite what you’d think. Samsung has employed an intriguing design here to make this possible. Its base clamps to the edge of your desk or workspace, from there an adjustable arm allows the display to be moved from your wall to a more comfortable viewing distance. When it’s not in-use (or even when it is) you can tuck it away for more working area.
Samsung takes it a step further by integrating power and input cables into the arm, creating what appears to be an ultra-tidy setup. Space Monitor will be available in two models: 27-inch QHD and 32-inch 4K. Pre-order listings at Amazon reveal $399.99 and $499.99 price tags, respectively. Samsung is expected to ship its latest releases in late February.
Samsung eyes gamers w/ monster 49-inch UltraWide monitor
Samsung isn’t just turning its gaze towards clean designs, it’s also planning to unveil a monster 49-inch UltraWide display geared towards gamers. With a 32:9 aspect ratio and 120Hz refresh rate, the CRG9 is sure to be a hit with those looking for an immersive experience. Powered by AMD Radeon FreeSync™ 2 HDR technology, it will offer support for HDR10 and resolution up to 5120×1440.
The backside reveals ample connectivity, including HDMI, DisplayPort, USB 3.0 and headphone inputs. A lack of USB-C is disappointing here on what otherwise looks to be a stellar display. Pricing and availability have yet to be announced.
CES will deliver the “world’s first 32-inch Curved UHD display”
Finally, Samsung is looking to content creators with what it is calling the “world’s first” 32-inch curved UHD display. With full 4K resolutions, this release is designed for users making content on a daily basis. Aside from its slim and bezel-light design, Samsung is going with premium metal materials here. Details are slim here at the time of publishing, look for additional details to emerge next week at CES.
