Nuvyyo is expanding its Tablo lineup this morning with the new Quad DVR, yet another alternative for cord-cutters. The four-tuner set-top box offers many of the same features made popular by Tablo’s other options, but notably includes the ability to automatically skip commercials, a feature made popular by TiVo’s Roamio DVR. Head below for more.
While Tablo sports four tuners and support for up to 8TB of external storage, the real highlight here is its automatic commercial skipping feature. That external hard drive spec means Tablo can handle over 160 days of HD content. Safe to say, you’re going to need that commercial skip function. The only catch? A $5 monthly fee will apply to enjoy this feature. Tablo will also offer a lifetime feature for $150.
Like Tablo’s other DVRs, we’re seeing support for popular set-top boxes like Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire TV and Chromecast. Tablo is slated to offer its new Quad DVR for $200 at the end of Q1.
