ANYCUBIC’s all-new Photon Mono M5s is the ‘first consumer-grade 12K resin 3D printer’

ANYCUBIC Photon Mono M5s

Today, ANYCUBIC is introducing its all-new Photon Mono M5s Resin 3D Printer. Positioned as the “first consumer-grade 12K resin 3D printer,” the Photon Mono M5s has been designed to provide “unprecedented detail and convenience” for makers with the new leveling-free build plate, 3rd-gen release film, and intelligent monitoring system. This new release film will help decrease overall print times, and not having to level the build plate greatly simplifies the printing process. ANYCUBIC’s latest 3D printer is slated to launch on May 22 at 10 am EDT, with early bird pricing for the first three days. Ready to learn more about this 12K resin printer? Keep reading below the fold.

12K monochrome LCD and Leveling-free build plate

The all-new Photon Mono M5s Resin 3D Printer is, according to ANYCUBIC, the “first consumer-grade 12K resin 3D printer” on the market. The larger 10.1-inch monochrome LCD screen equipped here will allow you to print models with “microscopic precision” down to 19 μm with the 480:1 contrast ratio further enhancing the detail you can resolve in your printed models.

While this 11520×5120 LCD screen is a great improvement, it is almost minimal compared to the leveling-free build plate system the Photon M5s ships with. Leveling build plates, whether on an FDM or resin printer, is a hassle and takes away time you could be printing. ANYCUBIC has now included mechanical sensors to detect and adjust the fit between the build plate and the floating leveling module, which, in turn, will lead to higher print success rates.

Increased print speeds with an intelligent monitoring system

Adding to the new 12K LCD screen and the leveling-free system is the inclusion of the 3rd-gen release film in the resin vat. While it may not seem like the film would impact print speeds, it actually does, as the printer has to carefully control how fast it lifts the model off the film after curing to avoid ripping. This new film, alongside the upgraded Photon Workshop 3.1 software, will allow the Photon Mono M5s to achieve an average printing speed of 105 mm/hr.

This increased printing speed will come with an inherently higher risk of failed prints, but ANYCUBIC has you covered. This printer’s new intelligent monitoring system uses three different modules to monitor prints: hardware examination, resin detection, and printing detection. The hardware examination will ensure that everything mechanical with the pointer is functioning properly before a print, while the resin detection ensures you have enough in the vat before starting a print. Then, the print detection module will be active throughout a print and monitor the progress in real-time. You’ll be notified of any incidents during the print through the ANYCUBIC app on your phone.

Availability

The all-new ANYCUBIC Photon Mono M5s 12K Resin 3D Printer is set to launch on May 22 at 10 am EDT, with the early bird pricing set at $399 for the first three days. Following this discounted period, there will be a chance to save some cash on this new printer through June 6, though it won’t be as low as the early pricing. Be sure to sign up for email notifications when this new printer goes on sale so you can grab it at the early bird pricing.

Electronicsforward’ Take

This new 12K resin printer from ANYCUBIC looks like a really good option for those who find themselves printing large and highly detailed models. The new intelligent monitoring system baked in here is also nice to have, especially if you’re running a small side business selling the models you print off.
