With rising prices and, frankly, just less deals across 2024 in the portable SSD space, today’s offer on the Samsung T7 Touch model is worth a look. Amazon is now offering the 2TB configuration down at $139.99 shipped. This model currently carries a regular price at $290 directly from Samsung where it is on sale for $170. It has more typically been in the $160 range at Amazon as of late, but has only gone for less all year in a brief sale event down at $130 for the 2024 World Backup Day celebration. It might not be the newest model in the brand’s lineup, but it is now $50 less than the comparable Samsung T7 Shield – they are both rated at 1,050MB/s. The Touch model here doesn’t have the rubberized shield, but it is less of a dust magnet because of that, and includes the fingerprint scanner security action too. More details below.
The Samsung T7 Touch delivers the same USB 3.2 support alongside up to 1,050MB/s transfer speeds and a solid aluminum unibody construction as well. But, as mentioned above, it also features the unique fingerprint security – there’s a small square on the top of the unit that gives you the ability to lock the contents of the drive behind your personal fingerprint recognition (a notably rare feature you don’t find on almost any of the competition).
If you’re looking to bring spending down and can make do with a 1TB solution, the Crucial X9 Portable SSD is one of the most affordable right now. You can land one at $77 shipped, or within a few bucks of the 2024 low while scoring the same transfer speeds and a more far more modern release. Scope it out right here.
Samsung T7 Touch Portable Solid-State Drive features:
The light, pocket-sized Portable SSD T7 delivers fast speeds with easy and reliable data storage for transferring large files, including crucial business documents, games, or movies. Transfer massive files within seconds with the incredible speed of USB 3.2 Gen 2; Embedded PCIe NVMe technology delivers blazing fast sequential read/write speeds of up to 1,050/1,000 MB/s*, respectively, making the T7 2x as fast as the previous T5 model. Unlike HDDs, the Portable SSD T7 has no moving parts so it’s more resistant to shock.
