Logitech expands Apple gear lineup with slick new backlit MX Keys S for Mac and iPad with motion detection

Just after the debut of its new M4 iPad Pro keyboard cases, Logitech is back again today to expand its lineup of MX series and Ergo gear for Mac users. We came away impressed with its last entries to its Mac portfolio, and this time around we are getting the slick new MX Keys S for Mac alongside the first combo featuring the MX Master 3S for Mac mouse and MX Palm Rest, the new MX Keys Mini for Mac, and the latest Ergo Wave Keys for Mac. All of it is now available for purchase directly from the official Logitech site and we will detail our favorites down below. 

MX Keys S for Mac – sort of like a Magic Keyboard but for $90 less

One of the new entires in the Logitech Mac gear lineup that immediately caught my eye was the new MX Keys S for Mac keyboard. Pulling much of the design cues from the previously available MX Keys for Mac model and designed to meet the “needs of users across macOS and iPadOS with dedicated macOS keyboard layouts and colors that complement the Apple ecosystem,” it also looks a lot like Apple’s black Magic Keyboard, just at a fraction of the price. 

Logitech describes the new updated model as the “ultimate productivity keyboard with comfortable, precise typing and an updated dedicated Mac layout.” it also features smarter illumination – the keys automatically light up when your hands approach the keyboard and brighten or fade to match your environment – and “time-saving Smart Actions in the Logi Options+ app” to help streamline your daily workflow:

The new MX Keys S for Mac can connect to up to three Apple devices at once, including your Macs and iPads. It carries a rechargeable Li-Po (1500 mAh) battery that delivers up to 10 days of juice, or up to 5 months with backlighting off. 

Pair MX Keys S for Mac with multiple Mac computers and iPads via Bluetooth Low Energy and switch between them at the push of a button.

The new MX Keys S for Mac is now available for purchase directly from Logitech at $109.99, or $90 under the price of the official Apple black Magic Keyboard.
