After combing through its extensive collection of chairs, I decided to give the OC4-V2 model a test because of its adaptive lumbar support and built-in headrest. I also was thrilled to see it available in a white alongside a more common black colorway. Electronicsforward’ Take

From the moment I ordered this chair until the day it finally arrived via FedEx, I was anxious to try it out. Once it got here, I was happy to see that FlexiSpot didn’t overdo it with the packaging. The box measured roughly two feet wide, two feet tall, and about a foot deep, so it was very easy to haul from the front porch to my office. As soon as I had some free time, I began the assembly process.

Unlike some office chairs I have put together in the past, none of the parts were stained, torn, or missing. In fact, I’m pleased to share that FlexiSpot goes the extra mile and deliberately includes extra screws and such in the package. Another nicety was that none of the mechanical pieces had any visible grease on them. This is something that has been an issue for me in the past, and with a white and gray chair, I was on the lookout for this because I didn’t want any accidents to happen.

Great news everyone, the assembly process was very straightforward and took me around 15 minutes. Admittedly, I was going pretty fast because I was super excited to try it out, but even if I deliberately took my time, I don’t think it would have taken much longer. I was careful to get every screw nice and snug, and finally, I was able to sit down. As eluded to at the beginning, I’ve had neck and shoulder aches and pains when working, and assembly day was no exception, but by the end of my workday, I could already feel an improvement.

The next day I began leaning into the headrest whenever I could feel my neck acting up, and within a couple of minutes, most, if not all of the tension would melt away. Having comfortable armrests seems to have been what resolved my shoulder pain. Straight up, that part just went away and I didn’t need to do anything deliberate to solve that problem. And let’s not forget about the adaptive lumbar support along the back of the chair. This has been phenomenal. I’m able to lean back up to 120 degrees in this chair and the lumbar piece fits my back like a glove thanks to its mesh design.

In terms of looks, this may not be the most beautiful chair in the world, but for being an ergonomic chair, it’s about as good looking as it can possibly be. While I do love playing video games, I’m personally not a huge fan of gamer chair aesthetics and this FlexiSpot offering strikes an excellent balance between form and function, at least in my opinion. As you can see in photos, my desk has a mix of black and white gear, and grabbing this chair in white really helped keep the space bright.

My only dislike is that I originally thought the arm and headrests were not adjustable. Thankfully this was not the case. It just so happens that everything is such a tight fit when first assembled that it requires a lot of force to move these things for the first time. After forcibly moving them a few times, everything started to feel just right. Looking back, if anything, this conveyed the feeling of having a brand new, high-quality product with parts that snugly fit like a glove with each other.

So all in all, I think it’s pretty clear that I consider this to be a great chair and would highly recommend it. If you don’t struggle with the types of aches and pains that I do, perhaps you don’t need an ergonomic chair. Thankfully FlexiSpot has loads of styles and colorways to pick from, so you shouldn’t have a problem finding something you like. I would definitely recommend sticking with FlexiSpot though, especially given its reasonable prices and just how well-known the brand has become in this space.
