Well, what will hopefully be an exciting and uneventful summer Nintendo Direct showcase has arrived. As promised with yesterday’s official announcement, Nintendo is set to host a 40-minute Nintendo Direct to showcase featuring a series of new games and updates on titles headed to Switch through 2024, and you can follow along with us down below.
Summer Nintendo Direct showcase 2024
Today’s Nintendo Direct showcase is scheduled to kick off at 7 a.m. PT/10 a.m. ET on the official Nintendo YouTube channel and elsewhere (the stream is waiting for you below).
Nintendo, as usual, has been mostly tight-lipped about what to expect. But we do know there will be 40 minutes of news and updates regarding various new titles coming to Switch this year. This, if past years are any indication, might also include updates on new releases that are about to launch as well as some exiting additions to Switch Online, but we are mostly unsure at this time. Yes, we are all hoping for a major Metroid update/announcement, and a new Donkey Kong game (perhaps a remake of the original Country?!!), and a new Animal Crossing, but it won’t be long until we find out for sure.
As we detailed yesterday, Nintendo will definitely not be talking about any new Switch hardware, or at least not the Switch 2: “There will be no mention of the Nintendo Switch successor during this presentation.”
