We have been featuring UAG’s special brand of ultra-protective iPhone and iPad gear for years. Much it delivers a rugged, almost industrial or even tactical vibe with layered angular designs. And now, just after the brand unleashed its new cases for the M4 iPad Pro and M2 Air models, it’s ready to unveil the latest design for iPhone 15 users. Forged in the fires of the Urban Armor Gear design studios, the brand’s new glass and epoxy resin G10 Monarch Pro case has arrived.
UAG’s new ultra-protective glass epoxy resin G10 Monarch Pro iPhone 15 case
The new UAG Monarch Pro case, much like other models in the lineup, is for those “who demand the utmost in protection.” But this time around it comes in the form of a limited edition design known as G10 – the brand has been hard at work stacking multiple layers of glass cloth, each soaked in epoxy resin, and then compressed under heat. This is where that unique swirly pattern comes from you see in the imagery here.
The brand tells us this material ensures a lightweight composition that maintains the rugged and robust end result the brand is known for. It is weaved in between, over, and through the lightweight Armor frame, “top-grain” leather inlay, and sculpted corners for reinforced drop protection and an elevated look.
The inner Hex pattern, razed camera bezels, and oversized clicky button covers we are familiar with on the standard edition Monarch Pro cases all make a return here alongside a built-in magnet module to support your MagSafe accessories and chargers – it is also Apple Pay compatible.
Joining the integrated lanyard anchor points and lanyard card compatibility here, this is indeed, despite the new forged glass layering technique, another military-grade case from the brand. It meets “2x military drop-test standards (MIL STD 810G 516.6)” that delivers 25-foot drop protection.
Now available for purchase via the brand’s official Amazon storefront for both the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, the new UAG Limited Edition Monarch Pro G10 case fetches $149.95 shipped.
You’re clearly paying pretty penny for UAG’s hardcore protection here, but you might be happy you did if you drop your $999+ iPhone and bounce it off the concrete without putting a scratch on it. Having said that, this is one of the more pricey cases out there, and the swirl pattern certainly isn’t for everyone. But there is certainly something ultra-unique about the glass resin treatment here – you’re not likely to bump into anyone else with a case quite like this – and you’ll never need to worry about bumping your iPhone again either.
For my money, I might look towards the brand’s Civilian Olive Drab MagSafe case – there’s just something about the military vibes and more subtle angular deign for me. You can get a closer look at the rest of the brand’s lineup, including the Civilian, in our launch coverage and be sure to check out our hands-on review of the Monarch Pro right here for more thoughts on the user experience.
