More and more engines seem to be rumbling in the LEGO garages, with everyone’s favorite brick-built company revealing the next upcoming Technic 42177 Mercedes-Benz G 500 PROFESSIONAL Line set, which will join both the Technics 42174 Emirates Team New Zealand AC75 Yacht and 42172 McLaren P1 sets for an August release. Now available for pre-order on both LEGO’s direct site and Amazon, we’ve got plenty of info and pictures to share with you down below, so get your keys in that ignition and lets get moving!
Stacking up to 2,891 pieces, the LEGO Technic 42177 Mercedes-Benz G 500 PROFESSIONAL Line set will be pulling up as an alternative choice for those of you not feeling the typical line of 1:8 supercars, but instead prefer the rugged 4 x 4 off-road adventures. Admire its details, immerse yourself in the authentic functions, and commemorate the 45th anniversary of one of the world’s best-loved off-roaders with this kit.
This kit will officially release August 1, 2024 with prices locked in at $249.99 shipped, joining the already packed lineup of eleven other known sets: 41839 Message Board, 75385 Ahsoka Tano’s Duel on Peridea, 75388 Jedi Bob’s Starfighter, 75389 The Dark Falcon, 75392 Creative Play Droid Builder, 75393 TIE Fighter & X-Wing Mash-up, 75394 Imperial Star Destroyer, 75396 Desert Skiff and Sarlacc Pit, LEGO 75398 C-3PO, as well as the LEGO Technic 42172 McLaren P1, LEGO Technic 42174 Emirates Team New Zealand AC75 Yacht and the LEGO Ideas 21350 Jaws set.
Like yesterday’s McLaren P1 set, you’re getting a very heavily detailed set here, cruising in completely decked out with plenty of authentic recreations from the 4 x 4 behemoth: there’s working steering, raised suspension, working locks alongside opening doors – both the tailgate and hood can also be propped open, revealing the vehicle’s interior, as well as the 6-cylinder in-line piston engine – and even a 7-speed gearbox with drive, neutral, and reverse settings. Off-road enthusiasts will likely be happy to see that no expenses were spared when adding classic accessories, including the ladder, a spare wheel, and a roof rack.
From immediate comparisons, it’s easy to tell that this new set is a much larger, colorful, and up-scaled version of the urban G63 variant from the Speed Champions 76924 Mercedes-AMG G 63 & Mercedes-AMG SL 63 set. It promises to be quite the sizeable model once finished, coming in at over 8.5 inches high, 16.5 inches long, and 8 inches wide.
