After debuting the new Wolverine V3 Pro controller and BlackWidow V4 Pro 75% gaming keyboard, Razer is back again with another exciting release. It has now debuted Freyja, the “world’s first” HD Haptic Gaming cushion. Yes, this is the same cushion it showcased earlier this year CES. Additionally, Razer has also unleashed the new Kraken V4 Pro gaming headset with haptics, leaving no stone unturned to deliver full-body immersion. Both the Kraken V4 Pro headset and Freyja gaming cushion are now available to buy from Amazon, Best Buy, and Razer’s online store. The headset is priced at $399.99 whereas the cushion will set you back $299.99 shipped. Unsurprisingly, the new gaming cushion seems to be low in stock, at least for now. Razer takes full-body immersion seriously with Freyja and Kraken V4 Pro
It wasn’t exactly clear if Razer would actually debut its gaming cushion with Sensa HD Haptics when it showcased it earlier this year at CES, but here we are. The new Freyja gaming cushion aims to deliver a more immersive gaming experience with tactile sensations for $299.99 shipped. Just like a controller’s vibration, the Freyja cushion will make you feel everything from “intense exploring of battlefields to the subtle vibrations of a heartbeat racing during a stealth mission.” It does so with the help of panels that are positioned behind and beneath you as a part of the cushion. It is powered by six advanced haptic motor actuators, and it connects via Bluetooth or through Razer’s HyperSpeed wireless connection.
Razer has listed games like Final Fantasy 16, Silent Hill 2, and Stalker 2 as the ones that integrate its Sensa HD tech to drive the haptics, though the cushion will mostly convert sounds in whatever game you’re playing to vibrations. Notably, it’ll also work with movies and music.
The full immersive experience will be completed with Razer’s Kraken V4 Pro headset, which is also something it debuted alongside the Freyja gaming cushion. The Kraken V4 Pro, as the name implies, is the Pro version of its new Kraken V4 headphones, and it is also powered by Razer’s Sensa HD haptics. It shares a lot of similarities with the Kraken V4 headset, meaning it is more compact than previous Kraken headsets and has a new 9-zone Razer Chroma RGB lighting in each earcup. What’s new here, however, is the addition of Razer’s Sensa HD Haptics that’ll take advantage of haptic motors to make you feel the vibrations when you’re wearing it.
Just like the Freyja cushion, the motors inside the headset can automatically convert audio to haptics in pretty much any game, though the same set of titles mentioned above will deliver better results. The V4 Pro headset also ships with a small box called the OLED Control Hub, which you can use to tweak the vibration feedback, lighting, and more.
Both Kraken V4 Pro and Freyja are officially out and are available to purchase. The Kraken V4 Pro headset is priced at $399.99 shipped and is available to purchase from Amazon, Best Buy, and Razer’s online store. The Freyja gaming cushion, on the other hand, is priced at $299.99 shipped, and you’ll find it at Best Buy and Razer’s online store.
