Apple’s new USB-C AirPods Max in Midnight, purple, and orange drop to $500 all-time low ($49 off)

First deal $500

I, for one, did not expect to see this deal today, but Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days event is ushering in the very first chance to save on on the brand new AirPods Max Wireless Over-Ear Headphones with USB-C at $499.99 shipped. Regularly $549, this set just debuted last month and is now already seeing a solid $49 price drop. This deal price is only live on the new Midnight, purple, and orange colorways. But you will want to keep in mind that the nearly identical original AirPods Max headphones are down at $399 shipped right now – the only difference between the two is the new USB-C port instead of the Lightning on the originals and the fresh paint jobs.

For many the new updated AirPods Max were somewhat of a disappointment – they aren’t the AirPods Max 2 a lot of folks were hoping for. But they do update what were already a wonderful set of headphones with modern USB-C connectivity and some new colorways.

My guy Zac Hall just recently detailed the difference between the original Space Gray treatment and the new Midnight vibe that is seeing its first price drop for the fall Prime Day. Be sure to scope that out for a closer look at the differences with some real-world imagery.

But beyond that, they are indeed the same set of headphones, so you ought to really want/need the USB-C or just love the AirPods Max if you’re going to update at $100 more than the original set
