Add Matter control to your built-in lighting with this 2-pack of TP-Link smart switches down at $26

$13 ea. $26

Folks looking to upgrade their built-in lighting with Matter compatibility will want to scope out the deal Amazon is offering today on this 2-pack of TP-Link Tapo Matter Smart Dimmer Switches at $25.99. Shipping is free for Prime members or in orders over $35. This set launched at $50, or $25 per switch, but has been bouncing between $30 and roughly $43 across 2024. We did see a quick on-page coupon offer that dropped this 2-pack down to $23, but Amazon is giving folks another shot at a notable deal that comes within $3 of the lowest price we have tracked.

When it comes to smart home gear, TP-Link is easily among the most affordable brands out there you can trust. While previously it mostly existed in the Google Home/Alexa space with the odd dedicated HomeKit release, with Matter permeating through its lineup, its ultra-affordable gear just became all that more versatile with compatibility across all major platforms – Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, and SmartThings.

These switches, as I’m sure you can imagine, introduce a bevy of intelligent features to your built-in wall and ceiling illumination alongside integration with the rest of your Matter smart controllers and smart home gear. This includes everything from dimming action, scheduling, and timers, all controllable either via the switch itself or the app and voice commands.

That means you can “turn on your lights from the SmartThings app on a Samsung smartphone, dim them by asking Alexa on an Amazon Echo speaker, and then turn them off from the Apple Home app on an iPad.”

With Matter, users are no longer tied to specific platforms and works with all certified smart home platforms, such as Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Samsung SmartThings. You can control all your smart home devices from a single app, reducing the need for multiple apps for different devices. Matter also allows you to control devices via multiple smart home systems at the same time through its Multi-Admin feature. That means you can turn on your lights from the SmartThings app on a Samsung smartphone, dim them by asking Alexa on an Amazon Echo speaker, and then turn them off from the Apple Home app on an iPad.
