Last week, LEGO unveiled its upcoming 76294 X-Men: The X-Mansion which will be released next month, and today we’re getting another big reveal that will certainly get builders even more excited for November to roll around. Just this morning, the LEGO Group introduced its new 21353 The Botanical Garden set as the next addition to its Ideas theme, spanning two baseplates and mixing some truly aesthetically stunning designs with over 35 plant species – plus, there will even be a nice complimentary 5009005 Entrance Gate GWP for a short period when it’s first released too. Head below to get an idea of what to expect and check out the collected photos while you’re at it.
LEGO’s new 21353 The Botanical Garden set is a truly stunning addition to the Ideas theme’s lineup and mixes some great architectural designs with plenty of beautiful botanical brickwork to create a display-worthy build that will likely attract plenty of attention (just like the feeling I get whenever I’ve stepped inside a real-life botanical garden). It’s set to release for LEGO Insiders on November 1, 2024, with general release coming a few days later on November 4, 2024 and carrying a price tag of $329.99 shipped. As I mentioned before, between November 1 through 7, 2024, along with your purchase of this set, you’ll also get the 5009005 Entrance Gate GWP while supplies last.
Stacking up to 3,792 pieces, the 21353 Botanical Garden set comes inspired by the Victorian-styled Botanical Gardens of the world that often first come to mind when you hear the name. This massive build sits atop two baseplates at 8.6 inches tall, 9.8 inches deep, and 20 inches wide and provides tons of scaled details that makes it all the more stunning a piece to add to your LEGO display. While it is not designed to be modular-compatible, there certainly isn’t anything keeping you from sliding it in between two buildings to add more greenery to your LEGO street.
The overall build features three atriums, with the main one including a spiral staircase that leads visitors to an observation deck, with a breathtaking view of two large and exotic trees. On the smaller atriums you’ll find a garden filled with cacti, while the other offers a cozy cafe for visitors to relax and take in the atmosphere more. The roof design is equally gorgeous, with a new 1×5 arch brick (as opposed to the existing 1×6 version) and a new clear corner element too – all of it going together to give it a stunning and distinct look.
On top of the architecture, there are 35 unique brick-built plants included here too, with the set even debuting a brand new tulip element right alongside the existing plants. What’s more, there are 12 included LEGO minifigures coming along with this set, which is the most we’ve seen out of any Ideas-themed builds so far. There are four staff members (a manager, two gardeners, and a barista), various visitors, and tons of animals – a dog, a squirrel, a bunny, four birds, and even a beetle element.
Among the visitors, there’s one of particular note that marks yet another first from LEGO – a minifigure that represents someone with a visual impairment and doesn’t wear glasses, which the designer Matt has worked hard to repectfully and authentically portray.
